We are pleased to introduce one of the newer members of the Kaseware team, Rob Oesch, who serves as our Product Manager for Public Safety Components. Rob brings with him 23 years of experience in the field of public safety software. In this article, we will delve into Rob’s extensive career, his journey to Kaseware, and the significant impact he makes in enhancing Kaseware products for the benefit of law enforcement communities.
Years of Dedication to Public Safety Software
Rob's journey in public safety software began at the age of 23 when he embarked on a career as a software developer in Tacoma, Washington, crafting code for a local law enforcement agency in 2001. His initial project focused on creating police reporting software that enabled comprehensive documentation of scenes, witnesses, and evidence. Additionally, his software monitored dispatch activities to ensure that arriving officers had all the necessary information at their fingertips.
Rob's professional journey extended to South Sound 911, a collaborative dispatch operative, where he assumed the role of Assistant Director of IT and Records. Notably, his outstanding contributions earned him recognition in the 40 under 40 class for leadership and community impact, a testament to his commitment to making a difference in the local space.
Continuing to advance in leadership positions, Rob’s career progressed for 17 years, where he served as the Director overseeing IT operations for local government agencies like a sheriff's department and the county's 911 dispatch collective.
Rob later went on to join a Fortune 500 company, working on a large scale to produce software for thousands of law enforcement customers. This opportunity provided valuable insights into the broader landscape of public safety software, and ultimately led to his transition to Kaseware.
New Opportunities for Service at Kaseware
In 2023, Rob joined Kaseware, seeking a new challenge that would allow him to continue serving public safety. His background in the local space prepared him for this transition, and Kaseware offered a unique opportunity – working with state agencies, corporate entities, and various other accounts beyond the state and local level.
As the Product Manager for Public Safety Components, Rob possesses a deep understanding of diverse software systems, and leverages his two decades of expertise to provide valuable insights for enhancing both the product and customer experience.
