Announcing Our New Team Member, Eric
The Kaseware team is growing! These past weeks we’ve introduced new hires and we’re excited to announce another team member.
Meet Eric D’Antoni
Growing up in New Orleans, there were only two things that were important to me: music and sports. My life plan since I was around 7 years old was that I was going to be Brett Favre during the football season and then Jimi Hendrix during the off-season. I spent nearly every waking second that wasn’t dedicated to school either playing a sport or playing an instrument.
Once I made it to high school, however, my interest in playing organized sports for my tiny high school was basically nonexistent, so I decided to join the workforce. My mother got me a job at her geotechnical drilling company, where I worked as a roughneck for the drilling operations department. In my time there, I learned an unbelievable amount, cross-training in every department that I could and slowly worked my way up the corporate ladder, ultimately becoming a project manager and the manager for the construction materials department. But, despite my rise through the ranks, I still felt unfulfilled, perhaps even a little bit trapped in a career that I didn’t even really choose besides to make some extra money during high school.
Pandemic Disruption
When the pandemic hit, I found myself feeling lost, but with none of the distractions of my normal routine, I was able to step back and really analyze my life to try to figure out what I really wanted and what was actually important to me. Who did I want to be on the other side of this crazy event when the world returned to some sense of normalcy?
Over the course of reflecting, I realized two unequivocal things: that I wanted a job in tech where I was able to help people (having experienced the life-changing abilities of two SaaS apps that I used daily, a budgeting app and a calorie counting app that already convinced me to change my major to software engineering), and that I no longer wanted to live somewhere that had any similarities with the place I grew up. So, I started saving up and contemplating where I wanted to move once the world opened up a little bit again.
Ultimately, after seven months of saving and researching places to live, I moved to Denver thanks in no small part to the booming tech industry, but also because it seemed like the most opposite place I could think of from rainy, humid, swampy New Orleans. I started scouring every job board I could find for a job that would finally, after a little over a decade in the workforce, give me a sense of fulfillment.
And ultimately, that is what led to me discovering Kaseware. Scrolling through job listings, I discovered this company that was the perfect medley of all the things that my reflections led me to realize was important to me: a noble mission, a highly motivated and capable team, and a smaller sized company that I felt would give me a real chance to make a difference in a field that I felt passionate about.
The mission at Kaseware is one that I can support wholeheartedly, making the job easier and safer for the people that are working to make our world a safer place. The Kaseware application truly is a wonderfully robust, game-changing tool that solves real problems that real people have. And to top it all off, I can confidently say that my coworkers here are some of the brightest and most cooperative people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
Needless to say, I am beyond excited to be a member of the team at Kaseware and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for not only myself, but also for Kaseware as a whole.
