Meet Our New Team Members: Part One

Announcing Our New Technical Project Manager

The Kaseware team is growing! We recently welcomed a new team member, Krissy Chapman. Krissy is one of our new Technical Project Managers at our Denver office. Though she hasn’t been here long, she is already making an enormous impact on our team. Despite these challenging Coronavirus times, she has been very busy helping us build an even better Kaseware product for our customers.

Now let’s get to know more about this outstanding team member!

Meet Krissy Chapman

In Krissy’s Own Words, “I have always jumped at the chance to try something new. I began my college career pursuing a degree in Elementary Education since I loved working with children. While in school, I worked as a bookkeeper for the county government’s IT department and took a basic web design class so I could “talk technology” with my coworkers. From there, I was hooked.

Trying Something New

I then signed up for more database and coding classes as electives. My boss would let me %22play%22 around with the coding I was learning in school. Later, I surprised the department at a team meeting with a demo of a purchase order tracking web application I built. I switched my major the next semester to Management Information Systems (MIS) with a minor in Accounting (my second love) and took off from there.

I graduated in 2010 from the University of South Florida and jumped into the IT world trying everything from Database Administration, Software Testing, Business Analytics, and Project Management in the financial sector for companies like Jackson Hewitt and Raymond James, all while pursuing my Master’s Degree in MIS.

Giving Back

I have always loved giving back to my community. As the oldest of six kids, I wasn’t a stranger to helping out whenever I could. I swam competitively for 13 years, and then shared my passion for swimming as volunteer coach for several years.

These days, when I’m not working, I am very involved with my children’s school and extracurricular activities — everything from tutoring to sewing dance team costumes. I am also a volunteer for my local running club that not only focuses on running, but giving back to the community.

Moving to Kaseware

Growing up my family moved quite often throughout the East Coast and Midwest before settling down in sunny Florida. In late 2020, I had the amazing opportunity to move across the country to Colorado. While moving during COVID was an interesting challenge, I couldn’t be happier for this new chapter in my story.

The role of Kaseware’s Technical Project Manager has built on my years of software implementation knowledge — blending some of my favorite roles that I’ve had over the years. It’s also challenging me in a new way. And I’ve discovered that the position has been much more than a learning opportunity — I am working on an application that makes a real difference in the world.

So far it’s been an exciting few weeks here at Kaseware! I appreciate the opportunity to work with some really great people. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Kaseware and our clients!

Welcome to the team Krissy!
